Early boats, early fish
Summer set up ahead of schedule. Strong mornings, and the lake got busy by ten.

- The pattern
- Out early and off the water before the weekend traffic got going. The first three hours produced most of what we caught, most days.
- Crappie
- Settled onto the deeper brush in fifteen to twenty feet and stayed put. Once we had the depth, the rest of the trip was just running brush pile to brush pile.
- Bass
- Topwater at first light, then the bluff ends and main lake points as the sun got up. A few good ones came off the deeper docks.
